Choose your xpander

On first launch, enter your xpander’s address and choose Continue:
  • xpander cloud: chat.xpander.ai.
  • A self-hosted xpander (Hybrid or Air-gapped): your company’s address, for example chat.acme.com. Ask your admin if you do not know it.

On a Mac your company manages, the address may be filled in and read Set by your organization, which you cannot change. See MDM.

Could not reach means the app cannot get to the address. Check the spelling, your network and, for a self-hosted xpander, your VPN, then choose Try again. To switch xpanders later, change the address in Settings. This signs you out first.

Sign in through your browser

The app has no sign-in form. You sign in in your browser as usual (single sign-on, Google, GitHub or email), and the browser hands the app its own session for this Mac.
  1. Choose Sign in with your browser. The dialog names the xpander, and Change goes back to the address.
Sign in to Omni dialog with a Sign in with your browser button, and Signing in to chat.xpander.ai with Change below it

  2. Your browser opens Connect Omni Desktop, naming your Mac, the account and the organization. Sign in if needed. If you did not just choose Sign in on your own computer, close the page.

  3. Choose Connect. The browser opens the app, which finishes signing in.
If the app does not open, choose The app did not open? to see a one-time code. Paste it in the app under Sign-in code and choose Continue. The code works once and expires after a minute.

Omni Desktop is not available means your organization has not turned it on for you. Ask an admin.

How long you stay signed in

The app keeps its own session for this Mac in the macOS keychain, separate from your browser’s. After 30 days without using the app, it asks you to sign in again. Sign out from your account menu or in Settings.
